One of the best ways to integrate yourself into the college lifestyle is to join a fraternity or sorority. Being a part of the Greek lifestyle on campus involves making friends with people who share your common interests. With names such as Alpha Kappa Alpha, fraternities and sororities take part in rich traditions and activities designed to form bonds of friendship between the members of the organizations.
In order to join a fraternity or a sorority, you must take part in what is called ‘rush week’. This is the time when interested students can visit the various organizations such as Alphi Phi to see what each order is all about. There are Greek organizations that cater to specific cultural interests and there are others that are based on academics.
One of the oldest women’s fraternities in the United States is Alpha Xi Delta. This group is dedicated to recruiting members who wish to excel in life. The members help each other to gain skills necessary to succeed in life. The college Greek lifestyle is one in which you are offered friendship and an opportunity to give back to the community.
